Quality Standards at Clarity: Ensuring Excellence in Occupational Health

Clarity Occupational Health is SEQOHS accredited and holds both ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certifications, providing an audited framework for safe, effective and consistently high‑quality services. These standards sit alongside a clear clinical governance framework so quality is built into everyday practice, not just into policies.

Our formal quality standards

Clarity’s quality commitments are underpinned by three key external standards.

SEQOHS accreditation

  • SEQOHS (Safe, Effective, Quality Occupational Health Service) is the nationally recognised benchmark for occupational health services, set by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine. Clarity’s accreditation has been renewed following periodic assessments, confirming that structures, processes and clinical practice meet this benchmark.
  • Clarity is certified to ISO 9001, demonstrating a structured, audited approach to managing and improving the quality of services and customer experience. This focuses on consistent processes, clear responsibilities and a cycle of planning, doing, checking and acting across the organisation..
  • Clarity is also certified to ISO 45001, an international standard for occupational health and safety management systems. This confirms robust arrangements for identifying and controlling health and safety risks within Clarity’s own operations, supporting safe working for staff delivering services to clients.

These standards are integrated so quality, safety and continuous improvement run through the whole organisation

Quality standards are applied through Clarity’s clinical governance framework.

  • Standards are set against guidance from government agencies, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and professional bodies such as the Faculty of Occupational Medicine.

  • Governance follows recognised principles similar to the “seven pillars” approach (for example clinical effectiveness, risk management, staff development, audit and user involvement).

  • Oversight ensures clinical care is safe, effective, responsive and well‑led, with transparent accountability for quality and safety.

This provides a consistent view of “what good looks like” in occupational health and how those standards are maintained

Quality standards are not static; they are maintained through ongoing activity.

Key elements include:

  • Audits and key quality indicators to monitor performance against SEQOHS, ISO and internal standards, identifying where processes or documentation can improve.

  • Review of feedback, complaints and incidents, with clear processes for investigation, root‑cause analysis and learning.

  • Training, supervision and appraisal for clinical and operational staff, ensuring they stay aligned with current guidance and good practice.

These mechanisms link directly into Clarity’s continuous improvement approach, so issues identified translate into practical changes.

For clients, Clarity’s quality standards mean occupational health services are delivered within clear, externally tested frameworks for safety, reliability and continuous improvement. For employees using the service, it means assessments and advice are provided by teams working under recognised clinical governance arrangements, with a focus on safety, confidentiality and consistency.

In short, quality is something you should be able to see and feel in day‑to‑day interactions – from how clinics run to how reports are written – not just in accreditation logos.
